RESEARCH SUBJECT AND INTERESTS
Through my practice-based PhD research I am investigating the disruptive potential of the image to pose a queer feminist durationality. My inquiry focuses on dance and performance practices that enact anachronisms, interruptions and jerks in linear time, and reignite queer feminist histories or ways of seeing. In my practice I am investigating the use of screens and multiple frames in live performance to explore the potentials of representation. My research synthesises and intervenes in a conversation emerging from experimental feminist art practices, process philosophies and queer theory.
Claire is an artist and choreographer. She graduated with an MA in The Body in Performance (Distinction) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (2015), and BA International History, London School of Economics (2010). Recently, Claire worked as a choreographer for Nicolas Stuecklin's 'Palponait', which received 2nd place at Premio Prize for Theatre and Dance, Switzerland. Claire has shown work at Art Licks Festival, London (2015), Arsenic, Lausanne (2015), Bonnie Bird Theatre (2012), and her piece 'Fake TV' (2014) featured in television programme Artbox Luxembourg RTL with collaborator Catherine Elsen. As a performer she has collaborated with other artists, including participating in Bojana Cvejic and Christene De Smedt's 'Spatial Confessions' for the BMW Tate Room Live Series (2014). She is currently a PhD candidate at C-DaRE, Coventry University.
