Comprehensive resources and materials

The library has lots of books, journal articles and specialised resources to support your studies. You can search for all of these through our online catalogue, Locate.

Beyond the books on the shelves, there is a collection of online resources so you can study anytime, anywhere.

As a researcher, you can explore our unique archive collections, which include the work of inventor and engineer Frederick Lanchester, the namesake of our Library. You can also check out the Coventry University open-access research portal.

Some fantastic resources are available in the library, I just wish there was more time to read all of them!

Support, when you need it

There are lots of ways we can help you when you need it. Through Locate, you’ll find comprehensive subject guides and answers to frequently asked questions. You can also connect with our friendly staff via our live chat service.

Each course also has its own specialist Academic Liaison Librarian. They can help you get the best out of the library resources, including:

  • How to find information quickly and easily.
  • How to evaluate the quality of a source.
  • Understanding different types of information and how to use them.
  • Citation and referencing.
  • Organising workshops and events covering a wide range of topics

The library is also home to specialist teams who can provide you with academic writing support and mathematics and statistics support. Students at doctoral level are supported by our specialist Research and Scholarly Communications Team.

We aim to get you up and running quickly with our course essentials. The scheme provides qualifying undergraduate students with essential course resources at no extra cost, helping you to succeed in your studies.

The library has endless amounts of relevant resources. An assigned librarian for my course helped to source books and provided advice on what resources might be useful for my studies.
