The Lanchester library sits just off Gosford Street between the William Morris and Engineering and Computing buildings. It's five floors of all the resources and aid you could need to make the best of every assignment, seminar or lecture you need to take on.
The Library has undergone major renovations over the last few years including refits of all the floors and a new entrance incorporating a café.
The Library is normally open 24 hours a day 364 days a year to meet the needs of its customers. However, we have had to make some changes due to COVID-19 to make our spaces as safe as possible. This includes reduced opening hours. Please see our Libguide for current opening hours.
You will only be allowed onto the floors of the library if you have pre-booked a study space an appointment. You must have your ID card and booking confirmation to enter. Please note there is no drop-in printer access. Spaces are available for 1-4 hours per booking and you can book once per day. All spaces are for individual silent study. Face coverings are voluntary. Unfortunately, we have had to suspend our visitor access schemes including the Sconul and sixth form access scheme.
