Overview
We are offering a one-week module in Leadership and Entrepreneurial Practice, aimed at developing credible and confident leaders in organisations. The module sessions are interactive and delivered in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), using peer-learning strategy.

Qualification: certificate only
CMI certification: For an additional £500 fee and upon successful completion of the programme, you will also earn the CMI Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Entrepreneurial Practice. More details will be offered to you regarding the CMI certification option during the module.
This one-week course in Leadership and Entrepreneurial Practice aims to provide you with a framework of knowledge and understanding on how to effectively lead and develop people in a strategic and entrepreneurial way.
Course detail
This one-week course in Leadership and Entrepreneurial Practice aims to provide you with a framework of knowledge and understanding on how to effectively lead and develop people in a strategic and entrepreneurial way. Participants will explore, for example, the influence and impact of leadership theories, culture, wellbeing, and the principles of entrepreneurial practice in order to understand the different contexts in which entrepreneurship can flourish. As well as the characteristics of entrepreneurial leadership within different types of organisational scenarios. You will be given access to a virtual learning environment with rich online resources from CMI, providing exclusive access to real-time learning materials.
The PGSU Professional Leadership and Entrepreneurial Practice module, in conjunction with the Chartered Management Institute, aims to equip you with skills in leadership and entrepreneurial practice, to better understand the mind set for entrepreneurial leadership within a strategic context. It offers you the opportunity to learn theoretical and practical entrepreneurial skills from ideation to enterprise exploitation, evaluating and developing solutions to complex business problems across diverse organisational sectors.
This module aims to answer this key question: What are the effective strategies that can be utilised inclusively by leaders and managers to promote entrepreneurial leadership and practice within and outside organisations, to raise levels of innovation and creativity, allowing a range of contemporary organisations to flourish?
Upon successful completion of the module, participants should be able to:
- Critically evaluate ethical and inclusive approaches to leadership, diversity, and entrepreneurship in professional practice
- Critically reflect on entrepreneurial practice and the qualities of effective leadership in relation to personal professional development
- Understand the principles for leading and developing people
- Understand leadership and development strategy
- Understand entrepreneurship in strategic contexts
- Understand the principles of entrepreneurial practice

Entry requirements
The Coventry University Global Summer School (hereby known as “the Programme”) is open to university students, HE professionals and members of the public. In order to apply to the Programme at Coventry University you must be aged 18 or above by the time that the course starts.
For all courses, we require a good level of English language skill in speaking, reading and writing. All courses are taught solely in English. The Global Summer School recommends a TOEFL overall score minimum of 35 and IELTS score minimum 5. If you do not have a valid (within 2 years) TOEFL/IELTS score, please take the English language test and send us your score for consideration.

Accommodation Information
You’ll be staying in Coventry University student accommodation as part of your Global Summer School programme. The accommodation consists of a mix of 4 - 12 en-suite bedroom flats, with a shared kitchen. Located just 5-10 minutes from the University and close to supermarkets, restaurants, Coventry city centre, and other local amenities, our student accommodations are perfect for getting to know your new friends on the course.
