Student story - Simran

Coventry University is the perfect destination to develop you personally and professionally, whilst also giving you an insight into British culture.

Don’t just take our word for it. Simran, a student from California State, visited us earlier this year told us her top 5 tips from her time in Coventry.

Packing:

One item everyone should pack are rain resistant boots and WARM socks. I cannot reiterate how thankful I was for packing the extra three pound boots in my luggage!

The city:

Coventry is truly the city for students. Everything is located pretty close to the school; bus station, groceries, clubs/pubs, restaurants, train station, and so much more. It is a mobile city that you can never find in the US.

Where to eat:

My all-time favourite place to eat was the Rising Cafe. I went there a total of four times with a couple people!

Advice:

The best piece of advice before travelling could be to embrace the culture shock and try your best to fit in. Don't worry if the culture is too overwhelming because over time you will find a new appreciation for it.

Why you should choose Coventry:

For someone considering a short term course, Coventry is a beautiful city rooted with a lot of history that everyone will enjoy. You get so much out of the programme and the people around you because you have all travelled for one motive; to learn and to have fun. I was able to do just that, and I am so grateful I did so.
