Postgraduate Consultancy Projects

Postgraduate Consultancy Projects

As a key part of their qualification, postgraduate students are offered the chance to undertake a research based consultancy project to complete their studies (often instead of undertaking a dissertation). Interested students are put through a pre-selection process, with suitable candidates being eligible to apply to a selection of consultancy projects compiled by the University.

The postgraduate consultancy project intakes are as follows:

  • September (seeking projects to start in May)
  • January (seeking projects to start in September)
  • May (seeking projects to start in January)

Consultancy projects, which carry course credits for students, often last for 8 to 12 weeks and involve a student undertaking a business project and preparing a relevant and useable management report.

The projects are derived by the company and are based around a real life issue within a business that the student would work on and make a contribution to. Students can be based onsite, partly onsite or work remotely for the duration of the project. Students undertaking a project require a minimum of 1 day per week to focus on their management report/dissertation.
