Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

With an estimated need for an additional 1.8 million engineers in the UK by 2025, our mechanical engineering and manufacturing engineering courses are designed to develop skilled, industry-ready graduate engineers.

  • Our mechanical and manufacturing courses are professionally accredited, providing you with the perfect stepping stone to becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
  • You will have access to modern facilities* in our High Performance Engineering Centre*. Highlights include wind tunnels, a composites lab, a metrology lab, a flow lab, an AVL engine test cell, a range of CNC machinery, a laser workshop and a full-size Harrier jet.
  • Manufacturing students study in our award-winning Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME), a collaboration between Coventry University and Unipart Manufacturing.
  • AME has received the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize, which recognises excellence, innovation and education in the work carried out by UK colleges and universities.
  • Following your second year, there is an option for you to apply for a one-year professional work placement or study abroad in a partner institution*.
  • We have extensive links with industry. Previous students have secured placements with Aston Martin Lagonda, Babcock International Group, Cummins, GE-Aviation and GKN.
  • You will have opportunities to participate in exciting field trips abroad*, which have recently included trips to Poland, Bulgaria, China, Belgium and the USA.
