Graduation Ceremonies 2023:

Spring 2023

A detailed breakdown of the schedule for our Spring 2023 Graduation Ceremonies is now available:

Spring 2023 Graduation schedule

Students who should be eligible to graduate in spring 2023 have been released to register and will have been sent an email to their University email account. Your results must have been released to you, via SOLAR, by no later than 15th February 2023. Results released via AULA are not official results. If you have not had your result officially released, even if you receive the registration email, you are not eligible, you will be eligible to attend events later in the year.

Dates for future events are:

  • Summer 2023 – week beginning 17th July
  • Autumn 2023 – week beginning 13th November

Registration officially closes on Sunday 5th March 2023. Please note if you do not register in advance you can still attend on the day. Tickets are issued on the day (see below for further information). Please do not email the Graduation team asking us to register you manually as we are not able to do this. If you experience issues when trying to register please ensure you are using an Android device and Google Chrome or Firefox.

Once you have registered you will need to pre-order your gown via the Ede & Ravenscroft website. You need to order your gown by no later than 10th March 2023. Please note this is an external company. We are not able to book gowns on your behalf.

For those students who have been awarded and are eligible to attend, you will collect your certificate on the day of your graduation when you collect your tickets. Any certificates not collected on the day will be posted out, following the Graduation events.

It is important that your Correspondence address is updated on SOLAR no later than 20th March 2023. Certificates are posted by standard post within the UK and Europe, and by DHL to overseas. You should allow up to an additional three weeks for delivery to a UK address, or up to six weeks for delivery to an address outside of the UK before contacting us via email at graduation.reg@coventry.ac.uk to report that your certificate has not been received.

Please do not contact us before these deadlines have passed to chase up your certificate.

Whilst you await your certificate, if you require evidence of your award for employment purposes or further study,  you have access to your HEAR which is your formal transcript. Further information about the HEAR can be found here:  Higher Education Achievement Report | Coventry University. We do not provide electronic certificates. Please note that the University is not responsible for any certificates not received due to an incorrect address. If this happens and you require a replacement then you must order via the online shop and pay the appropriate fee.

If you are searching for a job or plan to go on to further study, a prospective employer or university can still check your award with our verification partner by following the simple instructions at Hedd

You will not be eligible to attend the graduation ceremony if your Progression and Award Board determines that you have not met the requirements of your award or you intend to enrol on a further stage of your course (e.g. a top-up to honours) or you have an appeal in progress.

As an alumni, you will receive regular news about events, reunions and ways to get involved. It’s really important that we have the most up to date contact details for you so that we can keep in touch with you and let you know about these opportunities. You can update your contact details with our Alumni team. If you have any questions about graduation please email us at graduation.reg@coventry.ac.uk

  • Please note that only students are permitted in to the ticketing and gown areas, family members must wait outside.

Please note that Coventry University has no facilities for left luggage and space is restricted in the Cathedral so large bags/suitcases cannot be taken in.

For those guests who do not have tickets the event is streamed live on our website. All graduates are guaranteed two guest tickets for their ceremony whether you have registered in advance or not. As such we cannot issue extra tickets in advance of the events. However, please ask us on the day when you collect your tickets if you need extras as we may have some available on a first come first served basis.

Unfortunately, there will be no live streaming venue on campus. However, the event will be shown on TV screens on campus in The Hub building, located near to the cathedral, where people can sit and watch it if they do not have a ticket but we suggest bringing your own device so the audio can be heard clearly.

We must abide by the Cathedral’s fire regulations which require every guest to be allocated a seat inside the Cathedral, this includes children and babies, they are therefore counted as one of your guests. Please note guests are seated in a separate part of the Cathedral to students, so if you are bringing a child you must also have someone over the age of 18 to accompany them – they are not permitted to be left seated on their own.

We do not advise children under the age of 10 attending as it is a very formal event and once seated everyone must remain throughout the ceremony.

    Thank you for your co-operation.

  • On the day of your event (please refer to the schedule below) you will collect your tickets from the Refectory in Priory Hall. The ticket desk will open 2 hours before the event and will close 30 minutes before the start of the event. If you do not collect tickets within this timeframe you will not be permitted to attend. You will NOT be permitted entry to the event without your tickets so it is important you arrive on time. It is also important that once you have collected your tickets you and your guests are seated in the Cathedral 15 minutes before the start time. Again, if you arrive after the event has started, even if you have tickets, you will be refused entry so the event is not disrupted for those already seated.

You will need to have your student ID card with you to collect your tickets or photographic ID if you no longer have your card (i.e. passport or driving licence). You will also collect your Certificate at the same time as collecting your tickets from the Refectory in Priory Hall, Priory Street, CV1 5FB. (What3Words: ///comet.cities.fled)

Please note tickets and certificates cannot be issued in advance.

Once you have collected your tickets you will then collect your gown, which you must have pre-ordered via the Ede & Ravenscroft website, from the Gym, Priory Building, Priory Street, CV1 5FB.

Information about ordering gowns and photography can be found on the FAQ page.

For Coventry University students please see the schedule below and refer to our FAQs for further information about the events, how you register, how to order a gown and lots more useful information:
