Graduation at CU Coventry

Graduation at CU Coventry

Your graduation is the culmination of your studies and is an important event for you, your family and friends.

We intend to hold in-person graduation events in July 2022 as long as government guidance and requirements allow.

Please see the date and time of ceremony below and refer to our FAQs for further information about events, how to register, how to order a gown and lots more useful information.

Monday 18 July 2022, 2.00pm | CU Coventry Graduation, All Courses

Please look out for more information from the graduation team to your university email account in due course, which will include a link to register. We are aiming to release provisional registration by no later than end of April 2022.

Once you have registered you will need to pre-order your gown via the Ede & Ravenscroft website. You need to order your gown by no later than 1 July 2022.

For those students who have been awarded since April 2022, you will be able to collect your certificate on the day of your graduation when you collect your tickets. Any certificates not collected on the day will be posted out, following the Graduation event on 22 July, so it is important that your address is updated on SOLAR no later than 8 June 2022. Certificates are posted by standard post within UK and Europe, and by DHL to overseas. You should allow up to an additional three weeks for delivery to a UK address, or up to six weeks for delivery to an address outside of the UK before contacting us via email graduation.reg@coventry.ac.uk to report that your certificate has not been received.

Please note that the University is not responsible for any certificates not received due to an incorrect address. If this happens and you require a replacement then you must order via the online shop and pay the appropriate fee.

If you are searching for a job or plan to go on to further study, a prospective employer or university can still check your award with our verification partner by following the simple instructions at Hedd.

You will not be eligible to attend the graduation ceremony if your Progression and Award Board determines that you have not met the requirements of your award or you intend to enrol on a further stage of your course (e.g. a top-up to honours) or you have an appeal in progress.

Additionally, any student who has an outstanding debt to the university will not be allowed to attend the graduation ceremony nor receive their certificate, so you should make sure any outstanding debts are cleared no later than 8 June 2022. If you do not, you will miss the deadline for the graduation and will not be included at or permitted to attend the ceremony taking place in July 2022. Similarly, if a block is added between 8 June and the Graduation event because of un-cleared debt, you will be unable to attend the Graduation.

As an alumni, you will receive regular news about events, reunions and ways to get involved. It’s really important that we have the most up to date contact details for you so that we can keep in touch with you and let you know about these opportunities. You can update your contact details with our Alumni team. If you have any questions about graduation please email us at graduation.reg@coventry.ac.uk.

Facts about the day

If you are attending your graduation event in July 2022 at the Coventry University main campus, please note that only students are permitted in to the ticketing and gown areas. Family members must wait outside.

Please note that Coventry University has no facilities for left luggage and space is restricted in the Cathedral, so large bags/suitcases cannot be taken in.

The event is streamed live on our website for those guests who do not have their tickets, but will not be streamed on-campus. So that we can maintain safe numbers we will not be issuing extra tickets, so please do not attend if you do not have an allocated ticket.

Thank you for your co-operation.

What to expect on the day

On the day of your event you will collect your tickets from the Refectory in Priory Hall. The ticket desk will open 2 hours before the event and will close 30 minutes before the start of the event. You will NOT be permitted entry to the event without your tickets so it is important you arrive on time. We have the right to refuse entry to any student and/or guests who arrive after the ticket desk has closed.

You will need to have your student ID card with you to collect your tickets or photographic ID if you no longer have your card (i.e. passport or driving licence). You will also collect your Certificate at the same time as collecting your tickets from the Refectory in Priory Hall.

Once you have collected your tickets you will then collect your gown, which you must have pre-ordered via the Ede & Ravenscroft website, from the Gym, Priory Building.

All graduates get two guest tickets for the event. We are unable to issue extra tickets as numbers are restricted due to strict Health and Safety rules.

Information about ordering gowns and photography can be found on the FAQ page.
