Are you a UK school or college leaver?

Study a full-time undergraduate course

UK students applying for an undergraduate course, on a full-time basis, need to apply through UCAS. Your application can be tracked on the UCAS website.

To apply through UCAS:

Login and add your details. UCAS will ask for your personal details such as name, address and contact information, your personal circumstances and
how you plan to fund your studies.

Making an application

To apply for a course on UCAS, go to the relevant course page on our website and you will find the link at the bottom of the page under the ‘How to apply’ section, this will take you through to the correct page on UCAS.

Write a personal statement

You may want to draft your personal statement in Microsoft Word first and then copy it to your UCAS online application. This will help you proofread your work, ensuring it reads how you want it to and clears up any grammatical errors. Please note, personal statements are changing. If you're applying to a course starting in 2026, instead of an essay, you will be asked to answer three questions instead. You should still include the same information you will have done in a previous statement, but now you should have further guidance.

Get a reference

A written recommendation from a referee could be your teacher, or a school/college adviser who knows you academically. You will need to enter the contact details of your referee and they will be sent an application form which they will fill in online. Your referee won’t be able to see your application or courses, so make sure you discuss this information with them before sending the reference request. Your application cannot be submitted until your chosen referee has completed and added your reference to the application.

Pay the application fee online direct to UCAS.

Submit your application

Once your application is submitted to UCAS, it is processed and sent on to us to review. We will then determine if an offer can be made.

Are you returning to education?

CU Coventry welcomes applications from those returning to education to reskill, or simply learn something new. If you have industry experience as well as, or instead of, academic qualifications, then we will try to consider your application on its own individual merit.

How to make a direct application (non-UCAS route)

If you are interested in pursuing a full-time undergraduate course but you are not applying directly through UCAS, a Record of Prior Acceptance (RPA) form will need to be completed. To discuss your eligibility in more detail, please get in touch with us and our admissions team will assess your qualifications and experience, if you meet the criteria you will be sent an RPA form to complete.

You can apply via this route if you already have your qualifications. If you are completing an RPA form, you do not need to request a reference or a personal statement.

You will need to submit evidence of your qualifications/exam results during the application process. Please ensure that you have original copies of your qualification/exam results that can be submitted electronically.

Once your RPA is submitted you should expect a response from our admissions team within 48 hours.

Please note this response time excludes undergraduate courses where an interview is required. The application process for some of our courses means you may need to attend an interview, portfolio review or an audition. This applies to courses such as Access to Higher Education Diploma.

Do you want to study part-time?

We offer a number of undergraduate courses on a part-time study basis. Our course pages will state whether this option is available. If you would like to study part-time, you will need to apply to us directly by completing our online application form.

Once your application form has been processed, you’ll receive the outcome of your application via the email address that you have provided.

Are you looking to study for a Professional Qualification?

Could an Access to Higher Education Diploma be right for you?

An Access to Higher Education Diploma is designed for people who have not had the opportunity to access higher education. Formal (academic) qualifications are not mandatory. On successful completion of an Access to Higher Education Diploma you can progress onto a Level 4 qualification with the potential to study for a Degree qualification.

Once your application form has been processed, you’ll receive the outcome of your application via the email address that you have provided.

Are you applying as in international student?

Top tips for completing our online application form:

You will be asked to provide your personal details such as your date of birth and nationality.
International students applying will be required to provide passport details.
Provide your correspondence mailing address, the address where letters or printed copies of important documents can be sent out to you.
Select your course - You may use the search facility to locate the course(s) you wish to apply for. You can apply for up to two courses. Once your application is submitted you cannot delete your chosen course.
Tell us who will be paying for your course fees e.g. Student Finance - our drop-down menu has many options that may suit your circumstances.
Provide your education history – add institutions where you have studied and attach an education reference to support your application.
Provide your qualifications - this section is for adding any qualifications you may have.
Provide your employment history – tell us about any previous work experience you may have. Please also provide us with an employment reference to support your application.
