Settling in at Coventry University

Now that you have decided to study at Coventry University and received your offer, we want to ensure you have all the information and support you need to transition smoothly into university life.

Part of this will include regular communications from our support teams around how to enrol, course updates and any essential information you might need to know.

We want you to have the best university experience possible. To help you settle in and get to know your new home away from home, we offer a variety of facilities and services.

Welcome week

We understand that your first week at university can be a daunting thought; it could be your first time living away from home, you might not know anyone, and you’re likely to have a lot of questions! Whether you need help finding your accommodation, are interested in joining clubs and societies to make new friends, or simply want to quiz our friendly staff on life here at Coventry, we’ve got you covered with our Welcome Week.

Keep an eye on our Welcome Week page for updates on when and where you can get involved!

Residence Life (ResLife)

If you’re living in our university accommodation, the ResLife team will be on hand to help you make the most of your time at Coventry.

They help to organise activities, trips, sporting events, life-skills sessions and much more. They also encourage you to get involved with the local community through volunteering and fundraising events. First and foremost, the team cares about your health and wellbeing, helping you settle in and supporting you throughout the year, including the exam period. The best way to find out more is to join some of ResLife’s events during Welcome Week.

Lanchester Library has a huge range of resources to help you complete assignments, seminars and lectures. Join some of the library’s events during Welcome Week to know more about how you can get the best out of the facilities and services.

Student Engagement Centre

We have a team of trained customer service advisers who will be on hand to help you with any questions. This can be anything from directions around campus to welfare support.

Health and Wellbeing

Your health and wellbeing is our number one priority, and we want to ensure you have all the support you need and feel confident to ask for help.

Our Health and Wellbeing services comprise Welfare, Disabilities, Counselling, Mental Health, Harassment and Hate, the Spirituality and Faith Centre and the Medical Centre. They are all based in TheHub and are available to you.

We understand the importance of having access to peer support and how connection to others can help transition into university life.

We have partnered with software platform Vygo to introduce peer support and mentoring to all students from day one. Here you can chat with students online and feel connected before you even leave your room.

Enhance your employability

We understand that, ultimately, you have decided to study at university to help you achieve your career goals.

Our Talent Team will be on hand from day one to help you with this through various activities, from placement, CV and interview advice to our Add+vantage scheme.
