Welcome to International Students
We welcome students and researchers from all over the world who believe that they will benefit from the courses we offer and contribute experiences that we can all share. The School is home to academic staff from more than 20 nations and our expertise draws on research from every continent.
UK work experience
We work in partnership with a wide range of organisations of all sizes, with established contacts from within the private, public, voluntary, charitable and third sectors.
We encourage and support undergraduate students to undertake a professional training year as part of your degree as, with more than three decades of experience, we know that a placement provides you with a competitive advantage in the labour market. As such, our Employment Tutor is in continuous communication with potential employers to secure the best possible range of opportunities for you. A placement in an organisation relevant to your studies allows you the opportunity to apply theory into practice and, simultaneously, to develop those soft skills much valued by employers.
Work experience can also be acquired over both a short or long term period throughout the entire year and our Employment Tutor is there to advise you on how to make the most of working or volunteering part-time by balancing these opportunities with your study commitments.
The UK Work Experience team within the Centre for Global Engagement can provide host companies with either an individual or a team of international students dedicated to undertaking a placement or piece of work experience on behalf of an organisation.
