Photography suite

The photographic suite is a state-of-the-art facility which includes the following: a medium and large format digital scanning (virtual drum scanning), photography studios, black and white print darkrooms, free black and white film processing, and a digital print bureau.


What can students do here?

Students are able to use the equipment and suite space to take photographs.

How does the School of Media and Performing Arts use the studios?

The photographic suite provides studios for students to photograph whatever they want in a professional environment.

What equipment/software is available for students to use?

There are a range of specialist equipment and software for students to use, including:

  • Analogue black and white darkroom
  • FP40 film processor
  • Photographic studio
  • High end negature scanners

How do students interact with the facility?

Students contact the technician via e-mail or phone to book the suite and equipment when needed.

Who are the main users of the facility?

The main users of this facility are photography undergraduates, Masters’ media students, and occasionally fine art and media undergraduates.

What services and support are provided?

Services include; support with black and white printing, studio photography, high end scanning of negative + prints, black and white film processing.

What access do students have?

Students have a timetabled access to the facility.
