Urban Village: The Roma Allotment Project

Urban Villages: The Roma Allotment Project aimed to bring together the Roma and non-Roma people to co-create a short film, images and a digital scrapbook exhibition that focused on the experiences, identity and voices of the Roma people. The film was shared at an opening with Belgrade Theatre in June 2020.

The project was led by Rosamaria (Rosa) Kostic Cisneros (Centre for Dance Research, Coventry University) and Dr Heidi Ashton (Centre for Culture and Media Policy Studies, University of Warwick. The project worked closely with local creative Maria Polodeanu, director Reel Master Productions, Bernie Flatley director of the Roma Project Charity, the Tranca Family and other local Roma families.
