Hannah Lawrence - Electronic Engineering BEng (Hons)

I studied Electronics for GCSE and really loved it. I was interested in Maths and Physics and the combination of the two got me thinking about engineering. After a lot of debate, I decided on electronic.

In first year, I really enjoyed when we were given Raspberry Pi’s, as they were very fun to work with.

There are so many things that have come up so far that are highlights, meeting my friends on the first day of our course in Freshers Week, the summer ball, and finding out that I had been offered a place on the China Trip.

Outside of my studies I am the treasurer of the Jewish Society and involved with the St John Ambulance LINKS. I am also involved in the rep system; I was a course rep in first year and a senior course rep in second year.

I am currently looking for my ‘Year In Industry’ placement. EEC Futures have helped a lot so far and are continuing to help with placements listed on the Student Portal, drop in sessions and CV help. I was offered an interview but was only told about it 3 working days before so I emailed Rhiannon, the placement advisor for CEM, and she sent me lots of information that really prepared me.
