Humanitarian fleet managers require a different set of skills than their counterparts in the commercial world. Extent literature suggests that a broad spectrum of functional skills are needed by humanitarian fleet managers.

This research is exploring the skills and competencies needed for fleet managers in humanitarian aid setting, thereby providing an understanding of how appropriate fleet manager training can bring organisational cost efficiency, effectiveness, safety, security, and sustainability.

Objectives

The study aims to address the following objectives:

• Studying organisations with and without fleet managers to understand the benefits of recruiting a fleet manager in terms of risk management, compliance, program effectiveness, sustainability, safety, and efficiency.
• Designing a user-friendly tool to estimate the return of investment of a fleet manager.

Impact

The findings of this research will help aid and development organizations to develop and improve feet forum managers competencies which will lead to operate cost-efficiently, more safety and less road traffic crashes with less carbon emissions.

Outputs

A report including all findings of the study will be the main output with some decision-making guidelines. Also, a research paper will be extracted from this study.
