Project objectives

To map UK automotive R&D infrastructure and capability against future technology roadmaps to support strategic investment by government to boost the competitiveness of UK automotive R&D activity and facilitate supply chain development.

The method entailed UK capability mapping, benchmarking against German, Japanese and US automotive R&D specialisation and the review of UK and international automotive R&D interventions.

Impact statement

The project provides the evidence base for investment under the UK Automotive Strategy as part of the Governments published industrial strategy (see Driving Success:UK Automotive Strategy for Growth and Sustainability)
