Baroness Hussein-Ece will be giving a free public lecture on the controversial topic of peace in Cyprus on Tuesday 22nd May, hosted by the Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies (CPRS) at Coventry University.

Focussing on the peace process in Cyprus, Baroness Hussein-Ece will question whether conflict resolution in Cyprus is actually achievable. This lecture is open for all to attend and forms part of the Centre’s Turkey Peace and Security Studies lecture series.

Professor Alpaslan Özerdem, Director of CPRS said:

We are delighted to welcome Baroness Hussein-Ece to Coventry University to present our second CPRS Turkey public lecture. This is a high profile lecture series which was inaugurated by Filippo Grandi, Commissioner-General of UN Agency for Palestine Refugees in May 2011.

The CPRS Turkey initiative focuses not only on peace and conflict related issues but also the role of Turkey at regional and international levels. Therefore, Baroness Hussein-Ece’s lecture will be an excellent contribution to our ongoing research projects and collaborative activities with Turkish universities.

The CPRS public lecture will take place at 6pm on Tuesday 22nd May at the Coventry TechnoCentre, Puma Way, Coventry.
