There are lots of options available to you to fund your postgraduate programme, from alumni bursaries to school and department scholarships and government loans.
When it comes to funding, it's important to start early. Here are the different ways you can finance your postgraduate studies.
UK Postgraduate Loan – Taught Masters
Postgraduate loan applications usually take around 6–8 weeks to be assessed, so it’s important to apply early to make sure your funding is in place for the start of your course, even if you do not have a confirmed place yet.
Postgraduate loans can help with both tuition fees and living costs, and the total amount is capped. The loan is paid directly to you in three instalments across the academic year, and you’ll then arrange your tuition fee payments with the university.
Funding is not based on household income, and you won’t be eligible if you already hold a master’s degree.
If you’re studying part time, your loan will be split evenly across the full length of your course.
Find out more about the master's loan or call student finance on 0300 100 0607.
