Welfare support

Based in The Hub, our Welfare team is on hand to provide you with practical and emotional support, when you need it. The team is on hand to help you with:

  • bereavement
  • family, relationships and pregnancy
  • course-related support, including workload and exams
  • health queries and much more.

They can also liaise with academic and university staff on your behalf if you do not feel comfortable having certain conversations yourself.

Welfare practitioner support

Our welfare practitioners have a wealth of knowledge and experience. They are available to help you throughout your time here at Coventry University. Appointments are bookable online and are offered either face-to-face, online or by telephone, whichever suits you best.

During your 30-minute appointment, you will be able to talk through your issues or concerns and the welfare practitioner will be able to help you develop an action plan.

Your action plan may include a referral to an external service or one within the university. It may also look at some self-help techniques such as addressing sleeping patterns, looking at healthy eating or looking at ways to better manage your time and workload.

It is important to note that our welfare practitioners are not counsellors. However, they are here to listen and support you.

Care leavers support

The Welfare team is also the key contact for all care leavers and is on hand for the duration of your time here at Coventry University.
