The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is one of the largest Schools in the University and delivers undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral courses for a range of health professions including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science and operating department practice.

Students have opportunities to study abroad, undertake courses and subject related field trips and engage in Online International learning with students studying abroad in similar professions. As a school, we share a passion for caring about individuals and families, as part of a wider system of joined up health and wellness.

We focus on caring and compassion, holistic and spiritual care for all people and solving the challenges associated with building more resilient communities. Our learning through exploration approach brings your subject to life. You will use our excellent facilities and equipment to simulate scenarios, putting theory into real-world situations. Drawing on the expertise and experience of our staff you will have practical advice and guidance on pursuing the career of your choice after graduation.

Learning through exploration

The 'learning through exploration' approach at Coventry University takes a hands-on approach to learning. In addition to using the mock wards, operating theatre and ICU, we also use a range of problem solving and scenario-based learning to embed your understanding. In this video you will see how our nursing students interact with one of a number of 'patients' they will meet several times throughout their course, as the 'patient's' medical history develops. This evolving scenario-based learning helps you to develop patient-centred care and important skills in supporting patients with a variety of backgrounds, experiences and needs.
