Project Overview
AGROECOLOGY PARTNERSHIP is an ambitious, large scale European research and innovation initiative between the European Commission, Member States, Associated Countries and Third Countries, with a total of 111 university and multi-actor partners from 31 countries. Through this collaboration, the project mission is to unlock the transition to agroecology so that farming systems are resilient, productive, prosperous and place sensitive, as well as climate, environment, ecosystem, biodiversity and people-friendly by 2050. Project Objectives
- An EU-wide network of living labs and research infrastructures – the project has developed a strong and empowered network of LLs and RIs, currently comprising 39 LLs and 16 RIs, including the Coventry Agroecological Living Lab (CALL)
- Capacity building – young scientists are assisted and provided with budget for scientific exchange. This stimulates knowledge exchange among all stakeholders and the next generation in the field of agroecology through training and the valuing of LLs as knowledge transfer arenas.
- Monitoring of the transition towards agroecology – the project develops an innovative and conceptual framework methodologies, indicators and tools to monitor and evaluate the transition to agroecology in Europe.
Coventry University researchers are working throughout the project, and lead on work to manage and operationalise activities co-created by the network of LLs and RIs.
