The Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) is to launch a new third year geography teaching module in Local and Regional Economic Development. CBiS will be building on previous teaching links with the Department of Geography, Environment and Disaster in order to continue to put ‘research into teaching’, by utilising the various work being undertaken by CBiS to teach third year geography students about economic development.

The module intends to cover a robust theoretical foundation in the first few weeks, before moving on to policy and practice by using the projects and experience of CBiS staff to inform students about ‘state of the art’ research being undertaken around economic development and business in society. The module will be led by Kevin Broughton and Dr. Jennifer Ferreira, with contributions from a range of CBIS research staff. The first delivery of the module will take place in Semester 2, in January 2015.
