Switching to Coventry University
Having second thoughts about your university choices? Don’t worry, there are two options available if you are considering switching to Coventry University – Adjustment and Self-release.
What if my results are better than I expected?
If your grades are better than expected, you can use Adjustment to search for an alternative course without losing your current Firm offer. Adjustment is available from A level results day until 18 August 2021.
You can find out exactly how Adjustment works on the UCAS website.
What if I’m unhappy with my original choice?
If you got the grades you need to get into your first or second choice university, but you’ve changed your mind, you can use the ‘Self-release’ option to reject your offer and enter Clearing. You can then apply to another university using UCAS Track. To release yourself into Clearing:
- Sign in to your UCAS Track account and decline your place on your profile page
- You'll need to answer some questions and confirm your decision
- UCAS will then provide email confirmation that you’re in Clearing
Before you release yourself into Clearing, think about the courses and universities that interest you and do some research. You can find out more about Clearing on our How Clearing works page.
