If you're considering starting an undergraduate degree this September, Clearing offers another opportunity to secure a place. It’s designed for anyone whose plans have changed, whether you didn’t meet the conditions of your offer, you’re applying for the first time, or you’re simply exploring new options.

Use this page to understand how Clearing works, check key dates, and access guidance to help you feel prepared.

What is Clearing?

Clearing is the UCAS process that helps students find university places on courses that still have availability. You can use Clearing if:

  • you haven't applied to university for his September
  • you didn’t receive any offers for the courses you applied for
  • your results mean you didn’t meet the conditions of your offer(s)
  • you don’t want to accept the offer(s)
  • you’ve had you’ve changed your mind about where or what you want to study.

It’s a simple and supportive route to help you take your next step with confidence.
