Sir Frank Whittle Building

Sharing the same part of campus as the Lanchester Library and the William Morris Building, the Sir Frank Whittle Building is distinctive for its hexagonal window-frame exterior.

The building is linked to the Beatrice Shilling Building and hosts an exciting range of engineering facilities including the Harrier Jump jet, Cruden full motion vehicle design simulator, shaker rig and control room, the Mercedes Petronas AMG scale wind tunnel and the flight simulation suite, to name just a few.

Preparing you for the world of work, these facilities allow you to put theory into practice by getting hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment.
