Brussels Hub

Welcome to Coventry University’s Brussels Hub. Our aim is to connect European partners with members of the Coventry University Group to achieve research impact and excellence, to influence and shape EU policymaking, and to promote international staff and student mobility. This is achieved through identifying and pursuing opportunities for collaboration on international teaching and learning. We also focus on establishing strategic partnerships and developing research projects.

Our services

• Enterprise and Innovation

  As an innovative university, we can facilitate links with European companies, industrial associations and business support organisations. These links can provide collaboration opportunities on a range of continuing professional development (CPD) courses, commercial research, intellectual property commercialisation and knowledge exchange activities.

• Education and Student Experience

  Access our pool of student expertise through the university’s Talent Team. They could provide you with a supply of motivated students for up to 12 months that match the needs of your company, whether you are a large enterprise, SME or start-up business.

• Research

  Our research is focused on a range of global societal challenges. We can help facilitate access to opportunities for European research collaborations, researcher mobility and joint PhDs, and support wider impact by linking Coventry University’s academics with policymakers, stakeholders and academics across the region.

Our networks and associations

We are active members of a range of European networks and associations, the majority of which are Brussels-based.

• Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA)

  BEPA is part of BATT4EU, a co-programmed European Partnership under Horizon Europe which aims to achieve a competitive and sustainable European industrial value-chain for e-mobility and stationary applications. Coventry University’s Centre for Advanced Low Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS) is a member of this network.

• EU Business and Innovation Centre Network (EBN)

  EBN is a network of about 140 quality-certified EU|BICs (business and innovation centres) and 40 other organisations that support the development and growth of innovative entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs. EBN is also a community of professionals whose day-to-day work helps these businesses grow in the most effective, efficient and sustainable way.

• EIT Raw Materials Knowledge & Innovation Community (KIC)

  EIT Raw Materials is the largest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is to develop raw materials into a major strength for Europe. Its mission is to enable sustainable competitiveness of the European minerals, metals and materials sector along the value chain by driving innovation, education and entrepreneurship. Partners of EIT Raw Materials collaborate on finding new, innovative solutions to secure the supplies and improve the raw materials sector in Europe.

• European Policy Centre (EPC)

  The EPC is an independent, not-for-profit think tank dedicated to fostering European integration through analysis and debate, supporting and challenging decision makers at all levels to make informed decisions based on evidence and analysis, and providing a platform for engaging partners, stakeholders and citizens in EU policy making and in the debate about the future of Europe.

• European University Association (EUA)

  Representing more than 800 universities and national rectors’ conferences in 48 European countries, EUA plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation. The Association enables members to share best practices by participating in projects, events and other mutual-learning activities involving a wide range of universities. It also provides members with opportunities to shape European policies and initiatives affecting higher education and research.

• Hydrogen Europe Research

  A member of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership set up under Horizon Europe, Hydrogen Europe Research brings together researchers and industry across Europe to support the development of a new industrial ecosystem based on hydrogen. Coventry University’s Centre for Advanced Low Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS) is a member of this network.

• UK Research Office (UKRO)

  UKRO is a European office of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). It delivers a subscription-based advisory service for research organisations and provides National Contact Point services on behalf of the UK Government. UKRO’s mission is to maximise UK engagement in EU-funded research, innovation and higher education activities.

• British Chamber of Commerce, EU & Belgium (BRITCHAM)

  BRITCHAM is the essential bridge for UK-EU business and the voice of international professionals in Belgium. It creates a dynamic European business environment by influencing the development of policy, connecting people and building relations, and providing practical advice. They are also committed to prioritising the promotion of diversity and inclusion to better serve the needs of their members, employees and stakeholders.

• Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM)

  Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) is a co-programmed European Partnership in the Framework of Horizon Europe. It brings together a variety of stakeholders to increase safety in road transport, reduce negative impacts from road transport on the environment and ensure inclusive mobility and good access for all.

• EIT Digital Knowledge & Innovation Community (KIC)

  EIT Digital is a leading European digital innovation and entrepreneurial education organisation driving Europe’s digital transformation. Its way of working embodies the future of innovation through a pan-European ecosystem of over 200 top European corporations, SMEs, startups, universities and research institutes. It is a place for students, researchers, engineers, business developers and entrepreneurs to collaborate in an open innovation setting.

• European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL)

  ENoLL is the international federation of benchmarked Living Labs in Europe and worldwide. It provides co-creation, user engagement, test and experimentation facilities targeting innovation in many different domains such as energy, media, mobility, healthcare and agrifood.

• European Regions Research & Innovation Network (ERRIN)

  ERRIN is a well-established, Brussels-based platform of more than 125 regional stakeholder organisations from 22 European countries. It focuses on research and innovation policy and funding programmes, as well as project development. Members of ERRIN are mainly regional authorities, universities, research organisations, chambers of commerce, and clusters.

• Friends of Europe

  Through publications, debates and online engagement, Friends of Europe provides the bridge between policy makers and those who experience the implementation and impact of policy making, including citizens, the business community and wider civil society.

• Universities Informal Liaison Offices Network (UnILiON)

  UnILiON is an informal network of liaison offices representing universities based in Europe, Japan and Russia. The network represents an arena of exchange where the participants share information, nurture collaboration and act as information multipliers towards the represented organisations.
