Support makes all the difference

From the university’s Centre for Academic Writing to its Mathematics and Statistics Support Centre, there is a wide range of university and faculty specific support available to all our students.

Ash, an Electrical and Electronic Engineering student studying in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing, has found one-to-one sessions with tutors particularly helpful with her studies, as she explains here.

Tutors are really supportive, and they have one-on-one sessions where they really help you outside of class. There are always resources – tutors either recommend a specific book or direct you to the library to look for more things.

You have to ensure you make the most of the expertise the tutors and lecturers have. The more you approach them and the more you ask them questions, the more they will support you and help you out.
