Pre-sessional English Online
For learners who do not yet meet the English language requirements of their chosen degree programme, we are offering a new, 100% online pre-sessional English qualification, that supports entry throughout the academic year.
The pre-sessional English (PSE) Online Award aims to prepare you for UK academic study. Successfully completing the award will help you to:
- meet the minimum English language requirements for your chosen degree programme
- develop key academic and research skills
- improve your reading and writing skills, including how to write in the correct academic style using references and sources
- develop your speaking and listening skills, including presentations and seminar discussions
The PSE Team works closely with University faculties and academic staff, and the PSE course reflects academic practices found on our University degree programmes.
The PSE Online Award
The PSE Online Award is for learners who require an additional 0.5 IELTS (or equivalent).
Cost: £1,560, and includes all assessments
The Learning Platform
This Award is delivered wholly online through our partner platform, FutureLearn.

The PSE Online Award is also suitable for learners who have already met the entry requirements of their chosen degree programme, but who would like to prepare for their future studies by exploring and practising language and skills used in an academic context.

Coventry University also offer a face-to-face Pre-sessional English course at the Coventry campus.
Requirements
Students studying this course will be required to have access to a microphone, headset and webcam on their laptop / computer, as well as a reliable internet connection.
