Professor Alf Collins joins Coventry University's Centre for Intelligent Healthcare as Visiting Professor for Person-Centred Care

New Visiting Professor of Person-Centred Care, Professor Alf Collins joins Coventry University’s Centre for Intelligent Healthcare to “support their research in making a significant impact on people living with and affected by chronic diseases”.

Professor Alf Collins, whose career in the health sector spans 41 years, is the Clinical Director of the Personalised Care Group, NHS England. Discussing his role, Alf said “we encourage the health system to provide personalised care for everyone - care that takes account of the patient’s assets, means, values and preferences as well as the evidence base.”

Alf will contribute to the success of the Centre by representing and promoting research in evidence-based medicine and digital healthcare through his extensive networks in the NHS, as well as becoming a senior member of the Research Centre’s Advisory Board.

Professor Andy Turner from the Centre for Intelligent Healthcare said: “I am delighted and honoured to welcome Alf to the centre. Alf brings vast clinical, policy and academic knowledge and experience on person-centred care, as well as clinician and patient activation. Alf’s contribution will help our research make a significant impact on people living with and affected by chronic diseases.”
