Event details

The event forms part of Coventry University's Festival of Social Science.

An inclusive dance workshop for d/Deaf communities. Karen and Kathryn will be delivering a dance class inspired by the show. We will then be watching clips from Strictly and, using clay modelling, recreating scenes to make stop-motion GIFS (short-animated images).

This year is Strictly’s 20th anniversary, so we are also looking to celebrate the show’s development over the years, as well as looking to the future. What would we like the future of Strictly to look like? How can the show be more inclusive and accessible, as a prime-time show watched by millions? How can we contribute to these conversations?

Who's leading the event?

Dr Karen Wood and Dr Kathryn Stamp, Centre for Dance Research

Audience

All members of the d/Deaf community and friends
