Coventry University is delighted to announce that Ulysses Lyons has been appointed as the chief executive of the Better Futures Multi Academy Trust (BFMAT).

Uly will be leading the Trust, which focuses on sixth form education and how this sector can benefit from a relationship with a leading HE provider.

The university will provide support across a range of areas including an online learning environment across the Trust, providing access to state of the art learning materials, new modes of teaching and also offer some significant advantages in shared service provision, from marketing and finance to staff development and governance.

Uly is ideally placed to lead the BFMAT in its ambition to transform the futures of young people through excellence, innovation and opportunity. We have a bold aim, as sponsor, for BFMAT to become a national hub for excellence in 16-19 education, with all colleges within the Trust working to further improve student outcomes and enable the students to progress on to great things.

Ian Dunn, Coventry University Provost

Through the development of BFMAT, a focussed curriculum will utilise the knowledge gained from its relationship with local employers, so that young people are in a position to make undergraduate choices that match future jobs.

It is my hope that the partnership between Coventry University and The Better Futures Multi-Academy Trust will produce tomorrow’s inspiring leaders.

Ulysses Lyons, CEO BFMAT
