Qualifications

  • Coventry University LLB (First class) 2007
  • Coventry University LLM Business Law (Distinction) 2008
  • Coventry University, PhD The Use of Legislation to Regulate Age Discrimination, June 2013
Research

My research centres on equality and diversity issues in employment, particularly gender equality and age discrimination of both the young and old. I have used qualitative and quantitative methods in order to examine the type of legal claims that are made to Employment Tribunals in order to understand the equality issues that exist in the workplace as a result of explicit, implicit and unconscious bias. I am currently working on research on the ‘life course’, particularly the transition into and out of employment by women and vulnerable workers as they navigate the complexities of modern life and how legal interventions and policy have impacted upon the attainment of social justice for those suffering intersectional and multiple discrimination
