International Focus
As a course with an international focus you will have the opportunity to work on collaborative online international projects (COIL) with students from universities elsewhere in the world. This will enable you to examine issues from several perspectives and gain an understanding of how issues would be addressed in different legal systems.
Hands-on experience
Use our dedicated mock courtroom, known as a Moot Room, to develop your advocacy skills and experience a modern courtroom environment. You may also have the opportunity to enter our annual mooting competition to develop your skills and demonstrate your proficiency to employers.
Real-world exposure
Benefit from a course that blends theory, practical legal skills and employability throughout. You can apply to put those skills into practice, and if selected, work alongside qualified solicitors in the Coventry Law Centre Legal Clinic, which helps you to gain legal skills in a real-world environment, working with real clients.

- Field trips to multinational organisations within a range of sectors and industries. Memberships

International Association of Law Schools
Coventry Law School is a member of the International Association of Law Schools, an association of more than 160 law schools from over 55 countries, representing around 7,500 law faculty members. Having this status allows our law students the opportunity for a variety of international experiences, including with our partner institutions across the world. This membership is renewed annually, and there is currently no intention for this membership to lapse, however if our membership was not renewed, we would notify applicants and students as soon as possible. Please note international experiences are subject to competitive application, availability, meeting any applicable visa requirements and additional costs may apply.

European Law Faculties Association (ELFA)
Coventry Law School is also a member of the European Law Faculties Association with over 150 members from Europe and beyond. This membership is renewed annually, and there is currently no intention for this membership to lapse, however if our membership was not renewed, we would notify applicants and students as soon as possible.
What you'll study
We regularly review our course content, to make it relevant and current for the benefit of our students. For these reasons, course modules may be updated.
How you'll learn
You will be taught by a team of academic staff which includes internationally recognised researchers at the forefront of their field. You will be taught through a mixture of lectures, seminars and small tutorial groups of around 20 students where you can exchange thoughts and ideas with staff and fellow students to enhance your understanding of the topic.
You will have around 12 contact hours of teaching a week which includes:
- Medium group teaching: seminars or workshops
- Large group teaching lectures
Assessment
You will be assessed using a range of methods designed to enable you to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding, in ways that will be beneficial in your future legal career. These include presentations, coursework, reflective writing alongside traditional exams.
Job ready
The course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to work in an international law context. This could be in a law firm or an in-house legal team within a business or non-governmental organisation. You would also be suitable to work in areas of policymaking and research centres. The international legal landscape is constantly evolving and therefore a qualification that focuses on these areas and the specific challenges that the international legal fields face is very attractive to employers.
Placements and graduate opportunities have been offered at various organisations including the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Age UK, Coventry Refugee Migrant Centre, British Red Cross, Volvo, Rotherhams LLP, Wigley Group, Thomas Horton LLP and Shoosmiths LLP.

Coventry Law School has its own Talent Team unit that provides a programme of workshops, embedded learning, lectures, professional experience and one-to-one guidance to help you develop the transferable skills and enterprising habits required for a successful career.
The Faculty’s dedicated Talent Team has an extensive network of employers with a wide range of internship possibilities. The Talent Team offers workshops and guidance on the various on the various aspects of the employment process such as preparing your CV, interview practice and mock assessment centres, as well as putting on employer events, which should allow you to network with potential future employers offering graduate roles, internships and placements (all subject to availability)”.

By accepting your offer of a place and enrolling with us, a Student Contract will be formed between you and the university. A copy of the 2021/22 Contract can be found here. Tuition fees
The tuition fee for the course that is stated on the course webpage and in the prospectus for the first year of study will apply. We will review our tuition fees each year. For UK and EU students, if Parliament permit an increase in tuition fees, we may increase fees for each subsequent year of study in line with any such changes. Note that any increase is expected to be in line with inflation. Following the UK’s exit from the European Union, EU students should be aware that there may be a change to UK laws following the UK’s exit, this may change their student status, their eligibility to study part time, and/or their eligibility for student finance. We will act in accordance with the UK’s laws in force in relation to student tuition fees and finance from time to time.

Accreditations
The majority of our courses have been formally recognised by professional bodies, which means the courses have been reviewed and tested to ensure they reach a set standard. In some instances, studying on an accredited course can give you additional benefits such as exemptions from professional exams (subject to availability, fees may apply). Accreditations, partnerships, exemptions and memberships shall be renewed in accordance with the relevant bodies’ standard review process and subject to the university maintaining the same high standards of course delivery.
