Unjali's story

Lecturers with media connections

Unjali is in her first year of the Media Production BA (Hons) at the School of Media and Performing Arts.

Unjali has really benefitted from the University’s connections to the media industry and her lecturers’ professional experience.

Here she tells us more about her time at Coventry.

Inspire me

in the UK for Teaching Excellence - Times Higher Education metrics ranking 2017

Media Production has really inspired me. I’m a very hands-on person and there’s a lot of practical elements so I can get involved in both directing and filming.

The university itself has a lot of media connections which is great for my course and a big selling point. It’s great that the course teachers are not just lecturers. The majority of them are part-time, and still work in the industry, so they still have connections and understand how the media is still improving and what’s happening in the industry.

I hope to make career connections with directors and presenters in the BBC, ITV, or Channel 4. I’d love to direct my own documentary, make short films or go into presenting. I’m inspired by Louis Theroux!
