Hands on learning in the studio
Loanne studies the two-year accelerated Digital Design Consultancy course at CU Coventry.
She enjoys the way it is taught, with theory and practice. In class, she gets to experiment with cameras, lighting and software.
Each module helps towards a potential work area, giving all the skills she’ll need in the future. The small class gives her plenty of time to use equipment and ask questions of her tutors.
In the future, she’s keen to work for herself, producing ads or design for business.
There are no end of year exams, just coursework and assessments as you go. I don’t like exams – the pressure doesn’t show how well you can perform, so this is ideal.
The tutors are really good and because it’s a small class, you get lots of one-to-one help. They are very supportive. You also get different teaching styles, so it’s nice to get a mixture. We all get on well together.
Small class sizes mean students get more contact hours and support from their tutors.
