Thomas's story
Teaching

Coventry tutors have encouraged me to grow

Thomas has just finished his degree in Disaster Management and Emergency Planning in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing.

He chose his course because it allowed him to continue his career in an area of study he was really passionate about, which he didn't originally believe was possible!

Thomas puts a large part of his success on the course down to the expertise of his lecturers and their ability to help him grow professionally.

The specialisms of my lecturers really varied, which allowed me to learn and explore so much. They encourage you to ask questions about their knowledge.

Once I came back from my final placement, discussions with my academics became more conversational. They would share an academic opinion and we would be able to argue our points back, giving our own stance and rationale, which helps us develop arguments in our academic pieces of work, which I think has been really good.
