Ben's story
Teaching

A different learning experience

Ben is the first in his family to study a degree straight out of college.

He appreciates the different learning experience at CU Scarborough.

He studies one module at a time, so he tops up what he learnt the previous day.

Each topic lasts six weeks so he feels a real sense of achievement.

His Electro-Mechanical Engineering tutors have helped Ben craft his CV. His dream is to go into the rail industry – trains could be his career rather than just a hobby.

Doing one module at a time is really good. Not only does it help reinforce my knowledge, but it gives me a confidence boost because you feel like you are growing yourself.

The great thing about studying at CU Scarborough is that there are no end-of year exams. You take your exams and coursework throughout the year, which really reduces the stress and pressure on yourself.

The relationship with our lecturers is more relaxed. I feel much more comfortable to ask them questions.
