My skills are making a difference
Adam Black is studying Paramedic Science in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. With friends and family in the emergency services and having done part-time ambulance work with St Johns, he’s always had an interest in this area of work.
Adam is a Student Ambassador at Coventry and President of the newly formed Student Paramedic Society.
Here he tells us about some of the extra activities he’s been involved with during his degree.

As a Student Ambassador, I help out at open days, doing call backs, chatting to prospective students, and I’m on the interview panel for new students and new lecturers coming onto the course as well. I also do some part-time medic work at the Ricoh Arena, covering some of their football and rugby matches.
Back in September we went to a course in Cork, Ireland. It was called the EMS Gathering, which is a three day conference where emergency service staff from all over the world gather together and learn, with a mixture of conferences and practical scenarios. We are trying to get a re-run of that trip organised next year, and to potentially go to Canada as well, all being well.
