Chris's story

Preparing for the job market

Chris Bolton-Stewart is a third year Mechanical Engineering student in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing.

Chris’s main ambition is to start his own manufacturing and engineering business when he finishes at Coventry. In case that doesn’t work out, he’s also looking at graduate schemes in the aerospace and automotive industries.

Here he tells us about making the most of the careers support available at Coventry.

Game on

of graduates are employed or in further study - UG UK DLHE survey, 2016/17

My course is preparing me for employability by giving me all the knowledge I need to go out into the world of industry. But I think that the crucial point about Coventry is the amount of graduate support that you get in looking for jobs. The engineering faculty in particular have EEC Futures and they will fight tooth and nail for you to brush up on your CV skills, your interview skills, and make sure that you’re in the best possible position to try and secure that job when you leave university.
