Opening up career options

It can be tricky to come back into education after years away. Amee has managed it with the support of her tutors at CU Coventry. She is studying Early Childhood and wants to change her career to work with children.

Her degree is opening up lots of doors to jobs. At the moment, she’s looking at management in a nursery or the NHS.

Tutors have helped her get placements. Working at a reception school and in a nursery setting has given her lots of useful contacts.

I didn’t expect to start as a mature student but I’ve been made to feel so welcome here. It fits in nicely with my family, children and home commitments.

I just wanted a complete career change. I worked in social media for thirteen years and wanted something new. I had my own kids and wanted to work with children too.

I will do the qualification and see where it leads me. I’m getting so many opportunities through placements.
