Learning skills with four placements

Teodora has grown in confidence throughout her Counselling course. She’s used the careers team at CU London. They’ve helped her get four placements as a volunteer counsellor. Now, she’s putting her course into practice.

Studying one module at a time is a big help. She can focus on topics in depth, which is important to build the counselling skills she needs for her career.

Teodora says that studying her degree has changed her life. She’s been working as a student ambassador to give something back and earn extra money.

Volunteering as a counsellor gives me new opportunities. I see how my course works in the real world and practice my skills. I have four placements and I’m getting something out of all of them.

CU London offers a Careers Zone where students can interact with staff. They help build CVs, organise job fairs which gives us the chance to interact with employers.

My confidence has increased a lot and I am really hopeful that my future is going to be brilliant.
