Industry links boost careers

Brian is in his third year of the Motorsport Engineering BEng in the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing.

The ability to work in a team is essential in the motorsport industry, and Brian’s course has provided great opportunities to build this skill.

Here he tells us how Coventry helps prepare students for the job market.

As a person who worked before university, I particularly like the fact that the uni provides a lot of organisational skills and team-working. Being in university is good practice before you go out into industry.

You have a lot of support getting placements, internships, and graduate schemes, as Coventry University is well known in the industry and has a good reputation. The university has really strong relationships with the companies outside. The lecturers and professors actually came from industry, meaning they still have relationships with companies and factory teams. Because this provides more opportunities, it improves student mobility after graduation.
