Event details

This year’s Coventry Biennial aims to take a thought-provoking approach to explore humankind’s complex relationship with the world. The 2023 Biennial showcased the talents of regional, national, and international artists, to provide a platform for diverse, creative voices.

You are invited to join us as we reflect on Coventry Biennial 2023, presented via an experimental evaluation method known as ‘Evaluative Performance’. This show presents the voices of staff, volunteers, artists and members of the public to tell the story of this year’s Biennial, in their words.

In this style of theatre performance, actors wear headphones through which they hear participants voices, they then repeat those voices as immediately and exactly as possible. This allows audience members to hear authentic, yet anonymous opinions and experiences.

The performance will be followed by a short post-show discussion.

If you are interested in experiencing data in a new and interesting way, then join us! This event welcomes interested policymakers, academics, city stakeholders, artists, and members of the public.

This performance forms part of the research project Innovative Approaches to Evaluating Impact: Testing The ‘Evaluative Performance’ Method and Approach in Transdisciplinary Environments by Dr Charlie Ingram, Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE), Coventry University.
