Event details

Focusing on senior nutrition, "PRODOCÊNCIA NUTRIDOSO" intertwines teaching, outreach, and research. Partnering with healthcare and students, it trains future nutritionists while educating existing professionals. This project, launched in June 2022, operates in a disadvantaged Rio community through in-person and remote sessions. A team of academics, health professionals, community leaders, and interns collaborate to bridge theory and practice, addressing community needs and empowering the workforce. By prioritising resident experiences, the project equips professionals to effectively manage the community's health.

Associate Professor at the Nutrition Institute at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Professor Debora M Santos has experience in Public Health, with an emphasis on promoting healthy eating habits with older adults, working mainly on the following subjects: health promotion community actions, nutrition, and food assessment of older adults.
