The Circular Economy Hackathon is an innovation-focused event where participants will work collaboratively in small teams with diverse skillsets and experience to re-imagine how organisations, large and small, can and should leverage circular economy to minimise their impact on environment, resources and society, while maximising business opportunities and growth.
Ellen Macarthur Foundation outlines Circular Economy as: "Looking beyond the current take-make-waste extractive industrial model, a circular economy aims to redefine growth, focusing on positive society-wide benefits. It entails gradually decoupling economic activity from the consumption of finite resources, and designing waste out of the system. Underpinned by a transition to renewable energy sources, the circular model builds economic, natural, and social capital."
Therefore, the challenge you will be solving at this hackathon is “How can organisations design, launch and adopt a circular economy roadmap?”
The Circular Economy Hackathon will take place at Coventry University (Simulation Centre, SC1F) on Thursday, 5th March 2020 and put your brain cells, skills and experiences to work during this one-day event full of fun and learning. Everyone can contribute and make a difference!
Applications are open until midnight on Monday, 2nd March 2020, and spots are limited.
