Event details

Concrete Cinema is a collaborative City of Culture project led by dr. Miriam de Rosa (CPC) and dr. Michael Pigott (University of Warwick).

It focuses on the unique architecture of Coventry and the potentiality of the moving image to redesign and enliven our built environment, as well as on our interaction with it. Launched in July 2019, the project has involved the residents of Pioneer House, a Brutalist high-rise outside the ring road in Coventry, to favour community engagement and reflect upon the experience of living in the building, the perception, memories and policies connected to it.

Artist Blanca Regina has been commissioned to rework the materials produced during a workshop session into a set of visuals that will be projected onto the surface of Pioneer House on the 20th of September. The projection show will use video-mapping techniques and live music to animate the space we inhabit bringing to the community art and innovation.

The event is free and open to all. It will take place from 6PM on the Square facing Pioneer House in Victoria Street, Coventry CV1 5GX.
