“Global Online Inter-university Teaching (GO:IT): students and teachers in global teaching-based research collectives”

Talk by Dr. Gwyneth Hughes, UCL Institute of Education, University College London and Dr. Rikke Toft Nørgård, Centre for teaching Development and Digital Media, Aarhus University.

The talk presents the format for GO:IT, developed in collaboration between Aarhus University and University College London, with other national and international links. The GO:IT format invites teachers and students to think globally and interculturally about research and view themselves as members of international research networks. The design and set-up of GO:IT is presented along with some of the emerging benefits, potentials and challenges of running GO:IT. Furthermore, the talk highlights the potential diversity and intercultural engagement students might gain from linking research and education in international teaching-based research collectives. Finally, the talk points towards future development of the GO:IT partnership into multi-institutional and global GO:IT Hubs
