First Debate, in collaboration with The Flame: Should children do mindfulness meditation?

Open to everyone. This event is part of a series of Evening Conversations open to anyone interested in debating science and its impact on society. Join us for an evening of discussion where leading mindfulness teachers and researchers will debate the pros and cons of children doing mindfulness meditation.

Mindfulness teacher pioneer, co-founder of The Flame

Swami Ambikananda Saraswati

Author of books on spirituality, translator of Sanskrit scriptures, Yoga practitioner and teacher for over forty years

Dr. Miguel Farias

Author of The Buddha Pill: Can Meditation Change You? Head of the Brain, Belief and Behaviour Lab at Coventry University.

Dr. Peter Malinowski

Reader in Cognitive Neuroscience and Founder of the Meditation and Mindfulness Research Group at Liverpool John Moores.

Dr. Jonathan Jong

The Debate will be chaired by Dr Jonathan Jong, Research Fellow at Coventry University and author of Death Anxiety and Religious Belief.
