A final year Fine Art student from Coventry University has used the Garden of Eden as her inspiration for a stunning end of year project.

Clare Butler, 21, from Akeley in Buckinghamshire created a series of sculpture installations based upon the relationship of plants and furniture. For the project she used  furniture as her canvases and the plants like her oil paints to make allusion of a portrait picture.

The idea originated from a module Clare took in her second year at Coventry University and grew in to producing an installation project that could tell a story with just images.

Clare produced the Eden collection for her final Degree Show project, one of which have previously exhibited at the Custard Factory in Birmingham and taken part in a Herbert Gallery auction in Coventry.

Clare said:

My work shows how conceptual art can be fun and enjoyable. It is unique because it shows how I see the world through art and I hope that it opens the audience’s eyes to my view of nature.

Clare’s sculptures will be on show in the art studio space in Graham Sutherland building, Gosford Street, Coventry. Entry is free and open to public from 1st June 2012.
