Two Coventry University graduates have returned to the city where their love first blossomed as they prepare to tie the knot.
Jamie and Jason Ho met while studying at the university and despite having returned to live in their native Hong Kong for the past few years, they knew they needed to come back to Coventry as part of their upcoming celebrations.
The couple – who met while playing for Coventry University’s badminton team – flew nearly 10,000km and donned stunning wedding outfits as they posed for engagement photographs in the city ahead of their big day in January 2026 back home in Hong Kong.
It was a no-brainer to come back to Coventry. We have lots of memories here, although it was our first time back since graduating and some of it has changed since we were here.
Jason Ho
We knew each other by name only in 2016 as we were in different badminton teams, so we weren’t training at the same time. The chance came in 2019 that we finally got to know each just a few months before we graduated and the first day to confirm our relationship was our graduation day too.

Jason, 30, who studied Physiotherapy, and his bride-to-be also took the opportunity to reunite with those who made their time special at Coventry University, including one of 27-year-old Jamie’s lecturers on the Interior Architecture course.

Jamie was a great student and always came out with creative ideas. One project always sticks in my mind where she created a museum where you travelled around the exhibits in large paper boats.
She contacted me to ask if I would like to have my photo taken with them at the cathedral. I said it would be an honour to and asked if I needed to dress up for the occasion. She said no, so imagine my surprise when I turned up in everyday clothes and Jason and Jamie are dressed up for their forthcoming wedding in a white suit and a full wedding dress looking like models!
But that's the creative, lovely Jamie I know. Theirs is a genuine love story made in Coventry. I wish them every happiness.
